Meet the Practitioner
HEATHER PARKER, LCMHC
SUPERVISION, CONSULTATION, PSYCHOTHERAPY, COACHING
My work is grounded in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems, integrating somatic neuroscience, developmental theory, and relational, experiential practice to support healing from trauma and attachment injury. I specialize in working with C-PTSD, early relational wounding, and the reintegration of dissociated or disconnected aspects of self.
An analytic and experiential approach guides the work, with close attention to nervous system organization, parts-based dynamics, and relational process. Therapy supports the development of embodied presence, internal coherence, and increased capacity for connection and agency. EMDR is incorporated to support the processing of held trauma and adverse experiences, allowing the nervous system to guide the healing process.
My clinical orientation is informed by Buddhist psychology and mindfulness-based practices, with particular attention to cultivating awareness, compassion, and presence within both the individual and the therapeutic relationship. I practice from a queer-affirming, anti-racist, feminist, and liberation-informed lens, and am especially attuned to the intersections of trauma, identity, power, and shame.
“Heather Parker has an excellent blend of warmth, skillfulness, and openness. Her guidance as a supervisor will guarantee a well rounded opportunity to develop clinical and technical skills for those who are hungry to develop. Highly recommended.”
